Jacopo Ascari
Jacopo Ascari, in narrating his artistic career, declares: “As long as I can remember, my aesthetic education revolves around architectural drawing. As a child I drew architecture and drew the city maps of my own invention: axes whose toponymy I imagined that intersected in squares, theatres, churches, places of civil and religious power. I have always had such faith in mankind that I celebrate with small drawings and illustrations the applied art that most assumes courage and vision”. The discovery of fashion comes at a time when Ascari felt the need to reinvent himself. Fashion as an applied art that runs fast, which lends itself to experiments related to representation. But what links these two disciplines: Fashion and Architecture? “A unique context, the city of Milan. A reality in which, to quote Mendini, the design of public space becomes an element for making the story of Fashion spectacular, a story which, here, has always found fertile ground to flourish and lay down the law”- concludes the artist.
ASCARI ATELIER MILANO therefore tries to bring these two worlds together to demonstrate, through a common representation technique, how one does not exist without the other, in the continuous search for solutions, proposals and, above all, emotions.
