Back to Artist’s Works Alessandro Gerull’s work starts from a careful, disparate research and for certain bizarre verses. The sculptures are the result of the assembly of the waste materials that surround it.
In him work space of him Gerull accumulated bottles, cans, markers, sprays and a set of objects that he for some reason he could never throw away. By cleaning and order he felt the need to give a second life to objects destined to become waste: he began creating heterogeneous masses that he has him liking by entering empathy with objects.
The color is the fundamental tool chosen by the artist to give style, orientation and character to the sculptural organism. Spring the subject with color layers emerge shapes, points of light, surfaces and joints mixing in a unicum. The vehemence of the gesture drags into this dance materials fallen into the status of waste, refusal and ciarpame with the ambitious goal of making it pleasant to the view what is normally not.
The use of color is spontaneous, impulsive and gives complex compositions the possibility of floating from the heterogeneous towards homogeneous. In giving a sense and a soul to forms destined to destruction the monochrome layer relates a set of apparently uneven objects.
The artist reflects on the concept of “reusing” that sees in the waste the work itself, thus supporting the cause of sustainability.
